Environmental Impact & Worker Safety

In general, laser marking materials based on the TherMark technology are environmentally friendly, safe to use, and easily disposed of. Please check the list below for additional, product-specific disposal instructions.
RoHS Compliance
TherMark materials are generally RoHS compliant – please click here for downloadable material specific certificates of conformance.
 Disposal – LMM14 & LMM6000 aerosol
Unused aerosol cans that are still pressurized should be de-pressurized in a well-ventilated area (the propellants should be completely expelled from the can) and then can be disposed of in your regular trash and solid waste area.
Disposal – LMM14, LMC12, LMC28, LMC34, LMC48, LMC 62, LMC74, LMC94, LMC98, LMC6044P liquid/paste inks
These products are water-based materials and are environmentally safe and non-hazardous. After laser bonding, any excess, un-bonded material can be washed off the substrate and down the drain into your normal water/sewer waste area.
Unused containers of liquid ink/paste can be safely disposed of in your regular trash and solid waste area.
Disposal – LMM6000, LMM6012, LMM6038, LMM6046 liquid/paste inks
These products are alcohol-based materials. After laser bonding, any excess, un-bonded material can be washed off the substrate and down the drain into your normal water/sewer waste area.
Unused containers of liquid ink/paste should be opened, the alcohol base evaporated into a well-ventilated area, and once only solids remain in the container, the container with solids can be safely disposed of in your regular trash and solid waste area.
Disposal – LMM6018, LMM200, LMC260 tapes
These products are solids-based materials and are environmentally safe and non-hazardous. After laser bonding, excess tape can disposed of in your regular trash and solid waste area. Any unused tape can also be disposed of in your regular trash and solid waste area.
Important Note: The above disposal instructions are applicable in the United States. If you are in another country, please check with your local government for regulations regarding disposal.
Worker Safety
In terms of worker safety, we recommend that workers wear safety glasses or goggles and protective gloves when handling/applying our products and do so in a well-ventilated area as is customary whenever handling chemicals.
